Taking on a new enemy who’s threatening the galaxy with mass destruction
Star Trek the magnum opus is back in action again and how! Director J.J.Abrams did bring the magic back on the big screen after 2009 and this time it is in 3D. ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ released on 10th May, 2013 did not see many housefulls on the opening night but as the weekend went by, the crowd pulled in.
The story begins with a chase in dense orange forests with a plunge into the deep sea and a bubbling volcano ready to explode. The Starship Enterprise breaks all rules and saves the planet and the tribes living on it. The same fear of the death of Spock (Zachary Quinto) surfaces this time.
As the Enterprise approaches home, an internal sabotage destroys and damages the HQ resulting in personal losses. Captain James Kirk (Chris Pine) the Commander of the Starship Enterprise is held responsible. To take revenge and to save the world, he goes to the ever forbidden planets and risks lives of his crew along with his own.
The new enemy ‘Khan’ who rises against the Enterprise is mighty impressive, played by Benedict Cumberbatch. He wins accolades, he who fights the Vulcans 300 years ago rises again and unites with the Star fleet leaders in the battle of the superior species.
Spectacularly humourous is Scotty (Simon Pegg) who takes the cake with his expert timing and his cute pet. The others as in Dr. Bones, Lt. Uhura, Mr. Sulu, Chekhov the engineer, Admiral Marcus and his daughter Clara Marcus, all bring significant twists and turns in the story.
For the first time in years, Capt. Kirk and Mr. Spock resolve some issues between themselves and save each other’s skin on and off. Uhura is still Spock’s girlfriend and the new entry Clara, the Admiral’s daughter, is added as a family member to the Starship Enterprise.
As they explore new horizons together and fight new dangers, the adventure continues with 3D skills galore.
