I hear everyone screaming rape and abuse everywhere. And mostly they are women. Once a women says she has been raped, everyone believes her. Even if the crime is not proved, the man is the accused and taken in custody. Does anyone ever think about the man? Is he guilty?

There are many times when the men are raped and abused by people around them – be it male or female. Male molestation, incest, rape, abuse in many a ways are what men also go through but who hears them? Who takes them seriously?

Shame, guilt, blame, sexual trauma, lack of trust, broken marriages, suicides, recluse… are the repercussions in such cases. Sadly there is no court to believe the man.

As I happen to scroll through a story about a young good looking college teacher who is innocent and a female student who falls in love with him. She becomes obsessed and tries to force him to have sex with her.

When he refuses as he is not interested and also as she is a minor student, she screams and tells everyone that he was trying to rape her. The whole college, his parents, his fiancé, the police and the girl’s parents hold him guilty and no one is ready to listen to him.

He is shunned in the society as a molester and child abuser, loses his job and fiancé, and is jailed for the crime and unable to bear the rejection and shame, he kills himself.

This is only one story which has surfaced. There must be many such men who are abused and do not open their mouth. It is said that one out of every six boys is abused at some point of life.

I was surprised when I wrote on female child abuse, as so many men came up with stories of male child abuse too. Sadly no one wanted it to become public. They were so scared as to how will they be treated later on.

gcaffe conceptI call out to all those of you who are victims to come out openly and help other children and men to save themselves.

Your life can be a lesson to other kids. Your strength and courage shall give hope to so many more. You can show the way as no one knows the devil better than you.

Think about it.

  1. More than anything, modern day kids face bullying at every place. While they are considered ‘a kid’ always in every matters at home, they get flaked by almost everyone as they are more prone and vulnerable, being innocent. The kids who react are considered indisciplined. Even at schools, no kid feels safe. Now we have cyberbullying too.

The answer lies in making sure we talk to our kids frequently and give them importance they so rightly deserve. They may not be the victims but talking to them helps a lot.

That’s so true Neeraj. I am going to write on this also soon. It is a difficult age and times are so tough … but I am confident that our kids have the capability to handle all sorts of situations. And truly said we as parents must guide them every now and then.

A big thanks for your input. Keep reading.Cheers.
