MOVIE TIME – India Box Office

For all those who are new here let me tell you ‘Movie Time’ informs you what all is released this week on the box office in India. Thus you can plan your weekend well in advance and know exactly what to see in the theatres. So you see this week we have Highway, Darr @The Mall, Pompeii and The Monuments Men.

HIGHWAY (Hindi):

Alia-Bhatt-in-HighwayAlia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda feature in Imtiaz Ali directed ‘Highway’ that promises a story of the road, the places and the food. Will it give us some unforgettable memories? The film soundtrack album is composed by A.R.Rahman and has nine songs (eight penned by Irshad Kamil) though initially the film was planned with only background score and no songs!

Well, Randeep has proved himself many a times and it’s for Alia to shed her barbie debut for a demanding cast, much different from what she did earlier in Student of the Year.

Imagine being all alone in the parking lot with no one to hear your screams… Experience Darr @ The mall.

Imagine being all alone in the parking lot with no one to hear your screams…
Experience Darr @ The mall.

It’s a horror movie to the core with Jimmy Sheirgill and Nusrat Bharucha. Directed by Pavan Kirpalani, the story is about the opening of a mall which is supposedly haunted. The head of the security decides to spend the night before the opening in the mall to shake off all the rumours. And then one can guess what all he has to encounter!

The soundtrack Pinnacolada is doing pretty well already. It’s the first Gothic kinda music in Bollywood. Horror movies have a thin line in becoming scary or really horrific. Hope this one scares the wits out of you.

POMPEII (English):

PompeiiAn adventure film, Pompeii is directed by Paul.W.S.Anderson and is set in AD 79 in Rome and is the story of a slave. The slave who is forced to become a Gladiator and has to fight through the arena to get his love who is forcefully betrothed to the wicked Roman Senator.

The cast includes Kit Harrington, Emily Browning and Kiefer Sutherland.

Monuments-MenThis is a George Clooney film, directed, produced and acted all in one. The story is about a group of men who take over the task of saving old buildings, art and bridges before Hitler destroys them during the World War II.

The cast includes George Clooney, Matt Damon, John Goodman, Bill Murray and Cate Blanchett.

An interesting line up and I hope you all find it helpful to know what runs in the theatres. Every Friday so many hopes rise along with the releases and not so many make it to the limelight. I wish all the best to everyone.

Till next week … smile.
