From the makers of Dabangg and Dabangg 2, this film is directed by new comer Abhishek Dogra. The film features Sonam Kapoor, Pulkit Samrat, Rajkumar Rao, Varun Sharma and Archana Puran Singh.
The next in line is BABY, a drama espionage film with Akshay Kumar in the main lead. Directed by Neeraj Pandey who gave us A Wednesday and Special 26, this is a thriller shot in Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Nepal and India. An action film packed with suspense and drama, the story of Baby is of few dedicated officers who do not want to die for the nation but live so that they can serve the nation till their last breath.
Well, now the question – why such a film is called BABY? To this, Akshay Kumar answered in an interview, “This film is about spies. The ones who are working for the government but are not allowed to reveal. So, if they are ever caught, they can never reveal their identity, the country will never call them their own.
These are the people who operate from outside the country, because the base of terrorism is outside. These spies bahar jaake unko unke ghar pe maarte hain ya khud marr jaate hain. This film is about those unknown heroes. The news of their death can’t be mentioned in the papers either.
They are completely selfless, the only thing they care about is their country. I was thinking, why has nobody made a film on such people? That’s the USP of Baby, it’s about those unknown people about whom nobody cares. And as it was a new concept like a new born baby, so this operation was called Baby, hence the name.”
The film features Akshay Kumar, Danny Denzongpa, Anupam Kher, Kay Kay Menon, Rana Duggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Mridula Tuli and Rasheed Naz.
