02-BadlapurThis week we see Varun Dhawan in a new avatar in Badlapur. Sriram Raghavan, the director has made suspense thrillers before like Ek Haseena Thi, Johnny Gaddar and Agent Vinod, but for Varun it is the first time.

Varun Dhawan sheds his chocolate hero image and brings on the angry young man look in Badlapur. It is said that Varun Dhawan took a long time to get into the skin of the role of Raghu as he had never seen such loss in life. He is the latest chocolate boy in Bollywood who is doing love stories and running after the lovely ladies.

“Varun had never suffered the kind of loss and hurt that the character has to go through. He told me he had never lost anyone close to him. Varun needed to understand the anguished grief and desperation of the character,” Raghavan said.

The music is rendered by Sachin-Jigar and the lyrics are by Dinesh Vijan and Priya Saraiya. The songs are catchy and hummable. Jee Karda by Divya Kumar and Jeena Jeena By Atif Aslam are chartbusters.
