Byomkesh Bakshi is a fictional detective in Bengali literature created and printed first in 1932. Satyajit Ray, Rituporno Ghosh and Anjan Dutta have made films on Bakshi in Bengali while Doordarshan telecast stories on the series, in 1993, by Basu Chatterjee.

Now, we have Yashraj Films bringing the legend back to life again. Detective Byomkesh Bakshy hits the theatres this weekend. Directed by Dibaker Banerjee, the film features Sushant Singh Rajput as the protagonist along with Anand Tewari as Ajit and Swastika Mukherjee as Anguri Devi. From drug mafia, murder, World War II, glamour and dark powers of mystery, there is everything in the film.

Yashraj films have bought rights for all the 31 novels in all languages outside Bangla. Does that mean there will be sequels? Well! Here we have our own Indian detective bringing action, romance, cult culture, adventure and thrill at our doorstep. Are you ready to welcome the Indian Sherlock Holmes!!!

In English releases the wait for Fast & Furious 7 ends this Friday! The first film after the tragic death of Paul Walker is here. Fast & Furious series has some great following among the kids who would be disheartened to miss the movie on screens, it being ticked off as adult.

Well the good part is that Universal has decided not to kill the character of Brian O’ Conner, played by Paul Walker who died in a tragic accident half way through the shooting. The release of the movie was then delayed also due to changes in the script because of the vacuum created by Walker’s death. They have retired the character instead of killing it in the movie.

Directed by James Wan, the film features Vin Diesel, Late Paul Walker, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson and Michelle Rodriguez.

Well this is all for this week. Till next week … ciao.
