Movie Time – India Box Office

Naam villian ka aur kaam hero ka … yeah that is the tag line for our release this week. Akshay Kumar is back in action with ‘Gabbar is Back’ and along with this we also have ‘While We Were Young’ and ‘Sabki Bajegi Band’ this weekend.

GABBAR IS BACK: Directed by Krish, the film features Akshay Kumar, Shruti Haasan and Jaideep Ahlawat. In cameo roles we see Kareena Kapoor Khan and Chitrangda Singh. This is a film dealing with serious issues the country is facing. An action-drama, this is a remake of the 2002 Tamil film Ramana, directed by A.R Murugadoss, who is responsible for the South-North connect of masala movies like Ghajini and Holiday.

In Gabbar is Back, you see a good bad guy who wants to tell us that if you fight the system, you can make it right. There is a Gabbar in us all and we should bring him to life. Gabbar, the legendary villain from the 1975 film Sholay who destroys and feels nothing, has been given a new meaning in this latest release.

SABKI BAJEGI BAND: Directed by Anirudh Chawla, the film features Sumeet Vyas, Swara Bhaskara and Alekh Sangal. This is India’s first reality movie wherein the director projects live conversations with a handheld camera. The concept seems very interesting and hopefully it should work.

WHILE WE WERE YOUNG: Directed by Noah Baumbach, the film features Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts, Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried. A fun comedy movie about a middle aged couple who have typically saturated in their lives and they so realize when they come across a young couple who are having all the fun. A self realization movie where everyone reaches out to the reason of their living.

 Till next week … ciao!
