Movie Time – India Box Office

This week we have JAZBAA, PAN, THE WALK and SICARIO on the India Box Office releases.maxresdefaultJAZBAA: After a hiatus of 5 years, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is back in Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa, along with Irfan Khan, Shabana Azmi, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Atul Kulkarni. She was last seen in Guzarish (2010) with Hrithik Roshan.

Director Sanjay Gupta has given films in the past like Kante, Plan, Musafir and Zindaa which have been based on foreign films. Jazbaa is a remake of South Korean film Seven Days (2007). From making gangster movies, he has now come up with a woman centric film which is a crime thriller. Aishwarya plays the role of a criminal lawyer, who is forced to fight the case of a criminal, who is guilty of rape and murder. Her child is kidnapped in the process so that she does not refuse the case. In maintaining the balance of being a mother and a fine lawyer, she may have to pay a heavy price.  

the-walk-joseph-gordon-levittTHE WALK: Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film is based on the story of French high-wire artist Philippe Petit’s walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center on August 7, 1974. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon, James Badge Dale and Ben Schwartz.

A dreamer since childhood, Philippe dreams of performing life defying feats. He becomes a high-wire artist who faces death every moment. His mentor Papa Rudy, the daredevil devises a plan to walk on a tightrope attached to the north and south towers of the World Trade Center. With help from his team and against all odds, Petit attempts the seemingly impossible stunt on Aug. 7, 1974.

PAN: Directed by Joe Wright, this is a prequel to Scottish author J. M. Barrie’s Peter Pan story, first staged in 1904. It stars Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara and Levi Miller as the title character. It is a story depicting the origins of Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

Sicario-banner1-e1440577980273-585x300SICARIO: Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the film stars Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin. It is the story of an FBI agent’s journey, to crack one cartel boss against the other.

In the male-dominated profession, agent Kate Macer shines at the top and receives a top assignment. She then joins a task force for the escalating war against drugs. Then the adventure begins…
