Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kirti Sanon, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra bring for us a sizzling action packed weekend. A love story in the present and a love story from the pages of history releasing today, bringing together two big names of the industry – Rohit Shetty and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
It is always a tough job to create an epic, to go back in time and relive every character, every road, every dress, every emotion. It is tough to present history just the way it was then. But then here we have Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is a master creator himself. He brings us the love story of the Maratha Peshwa Bajirao and his second wife Mastani.
Bhansali had announced the film in 2003 with Salman and Aishwairya Rai in the lead roles but then somehow it got delayed and then further delayed.
Eventually he roped in Ranveer Singh as Bajirao, the great warrior, lover and husband. He was the man who fought 41 battles and never lost even one. He loved both the women in his life with zest. His first wife was Kashibai (played by Priyanka Chopra) and Mastani (played by Deepika Padukone). Ranveer and Deepika were Bhansali’s muse in RamLeela also and they do have some great Chemistry.
We also have Tanvi Azmi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Milind Soman and Sanjay Mishra in other roles.
The music of the film has been doing pretty well since the launch. The songs are period based and have a classical/folk touch. ‘Deewani Mastani’, ‘Pinga’, ‘Gajanana’ ‘Aayat’ are creating waves with the listeners. The music is composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali with assistance by Shreyas Puranik. The lyrics are penned by Siddharth–Garima, A. M. Turaz and Prashant Ingole. The singers are Shreya Ghoshal, Arijit Singh, Sukhwinder and Vishal Dadlani. Pandit Birju Maharaj has also sung the melodious ‘Mohe Rang Do Laal’ with Shreya Ghoshal.
Shahrukh and Kajol are back again together to sizzle on the screen. They have been a great on-screen couple. What is to be seen is that will they burn the screen or will they fizzle out? Kajol is back in Bollywood after a long sabbatical and has never been better. Though she has competition from the younger generation girls but there is something about Kajol, especially when she is with Shahrukh that you simply can’t ignore her.
Dilwale is a Bollywood film starring Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan, Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan in the lead. The ensemble cast also includes talented actors like Johnny Lever, Boman Irani, Sanjay Mishra, Varun Sharma, Kabir Bedi, Vinod Khanna to name a few. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film is an out and out entertainer with the heart of an eternal love story.
The music in the film is composed by Amar Mohile and Pritam Chakraborty and lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
That’s all for this week. The Box Office is sizzling this weekend. Enjoy.
