2 STATES (Hindi):

2-StatesIt has to be must watch for the Indians who are having an overdose of Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor in all kinds of promotions for this film based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel by the same name. Directed by Abhishek Varman, 2 States also serves the brilliance of Amrita Singh and Revathi in the movie. Along with them we have Ronit Roy, Shiv Subramanium and Achint Kaur.

It’s a love story of a Punjabi boy and a Tamil girl; basically about the nonacceptance between the two families coming from two different cultures who are not willing to bow down before the bond their children share. So does love win over hate for each other or do they give up and accept their fate? Romance and comedy are guaranteed though.

DEKH TAMASHA DEKH (Hindi):

It’s a comedy-drama. Produced by Sunil Lulla and Feroz Abbas Khan. Directed by Feroz Abbas Khan. Cast: Satish Kaushik, Tanvi Azmi, Vinay Jain, Sharad Ponkshe, Ganesh Yadav, Santosh Juwekar, Apoorva Arora, Alok Rajwade, Satish Alekar and Jayant Wadkar.

The film is a satire on the Indian political scenario today. What a timing of its release as General Elections are underway in the country. They are saying it’s a true story revolving around the search for the religious identity of a poor man crushed under the weight of a politician’s hoarding.

LUCKY KABOOTAR (Hindi):

Lucky-KabootarA comedy film by director Shammi Chhabra features Eijaz Khan, Kulraj Randhawa, Sanjay Mishra, Ravi Kishan and Shraddha Das.

Double meaning dialogues in plenty, Lucky Kabootar centres around the luck of a guy named Lucky who is married and settled down. Then his wife’s past comes back to haunt them and what follows is a laugh riot.

TRANSCENDENCE (English):

TranscendenceJohnny Depp, Rebecca Hall and Morgan Freeman in this astounding science fiction mystery thriller ‘Transcendence’ which is the directorial debut of cinematographer Wally Pfister. Transcendence which means an experience or existence beyond the normal physical level is what Prof. Will Caster experiences in this film. He who is physically there in the world but his mind is online and he can transmit messages. A larger than life experience with an amazing story line is ‘Transcendence’.

This week in India, we have four movies releasing on Friday – ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’, ‘What The Fish’, ‘Lucky Kabootar’ and ‘Jackpot’.

HobbitThe Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (English):

This fantasy adventure is the second in a series from film-maker Peter Jackson adapting the masterpiece ‘The Hobbit’ by J.R.R. Tolkien. In this movie, the adventure of lead character Bilbo Baggins continues as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield, on an epic quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain and the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. This long watch should be entertaining.

What-The-Fish-posterWhat The Fish (Hindi):

Dimple Kapadia starrer comedy is about tantrums thrown at her house while she is away for a month. All her instructions and disciplines go haywire in her absence. Superstitious and suspecting that she already is, she gets the shock of her life on return. You have to find out if her fish at the Delhi house got food at the proper time or the money plant was watered at the given dot. Why Dimple is choosen second time to get the shocks, after her motherly role in ‘Cocktail’? Ask Director Gurmmeet Singh who will explain the 30-days tale captured in camera.

It happens when you try to make some quick money. Confusions rein in as you try different permutations and combinations. Here is one such guy desperate to be rich. Directed by Shammi Chhabra the drama casts Madhavi Sharma, Ravi Kishan, Eijaz Khan, Kulraj Randhawa, Sanjay Mishra and Shraddha Das. Find out if funerals also have the potential to make people wealthy, but beware of naughty dialogues alongside.

Jackpot-posterJackpot (Hindi):

Director Kaizad Gustad feaures Naseeruddin Shah and Sunny Leone in this thriller which also has Sachiin Joshi and Makrand Deshpande. The film has typical theme of loot and distrust, as a gang chills with casino booty only to multiply their wealth by faking a robbery. Soon they begin suspecting each other. Watch out what happens to the jackpot ! At least some glimpses of the world of casino boats and gambling in Goa should be guaranteed.
