Movie Time – India Box Office

The Theory Of EverythingThis beautiful weekend on the India Box Office we see release of two award winning ‘must watch’ movies.

One is ‘THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING‘ which is life story of the greatest living genius, the astrophysicist ‘Stephen Hawking’. The film takes us from his youth to present.

The extraordinary story of Hawking falling in love with his fellow student Jane Wilde and then being diagnosed with Motor Neuron disease at the young age of 21 years. The story of hope and life and struggle of Hawking and his family.

The film is a biographical romantic drama directed by Academy award winner James Marsh, and stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones. It is based on the memoir ‘Travelling To Infinity: My Life With Stephen’ by Jane Wilde Hawking the ex wife of Stephen Hawking.

The other ‘must watch movie’ being ‘THE IMITATION GAME‘ is the story of mathematician and computer scientist Alan Turing. Directed by Morten Tyldum, the film features Benedict Cumberbatch as Turing and it is loosely based on biography by Andrew Hodges, ‘Alan Turing: The Enigma’.

The film features Turing’s life which was mainly involved in cracking of the Nazi Germany’s Enigma war code during the Second World War at Bletchley Park. Along with him he had a team of code breakers and with the help of Prime Minister Winston Churchill, Turing works on breaking the code. It also depicts his school years which were full of turmoil and then his decline as well as his story of degradation due to his homosexual relationship.

Benedict Cumberbatch was also featured on the cover of the ‘Time’ magazine as a promotional gimmick for the film. He also won many awards.

The other releases are:

AMERICAN SNIPER, directed by Clint Eastwood, is a biographical drama film based on the autobiography of Chris Kyle. The film stars Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller in the main lead; SHARAFAT GAYEE TEL LENE, directed by Gurmmeet Singh is a comedy featuring Zayed Khan, Ranvijay Singh and Tena Desai; CRAZY CUKKAD FAMILY, directed by Ritesh Menon, is another comedy film featuring Swanand Kirkire, Shilpa Shukla and Kushal Punjabi; ALONE, directed by Bhushan Patel, is a horror film with Bipasha Basu in double role and the debut of television actor Karan Singh Grover of ‘Dil Mil Gayye’ and ‘Qubool Hai’ fame.

We also see the release of animated film ‘PADDINGTON.’ Directed by Paul King, it is adaptation of the fictional character ‘Paddington Bear’ which appears in the books of Michael Bond.

The film is based on the journey of a bear in a strange world and his adventures. The film features Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins.
